Move Over Etsy…
Etsy is still cool but Supermarket is proving that there is room for another awesome site with a similar purpose. Here are some of the designer shops that I loved:

Tree Design
Check out this talented designer/illustrator. If you look closely you can see that this tree is made of famous country singers names. There is so much detail and I love the way the names twist and bend to give the tree such a realistic image. It was made for the CMA country music festival this year. LOVE IT!
New Business Card Design
I hate handing out my current business cards. I always have to justify it to people when i hand out my cards, that I'm like the mechanic who has a broken down car. I probably have 8 card designs for Doodle Dog saved on my computer but never have taken the time to really go all out on my cards, because obviously my clients are priority.
So after getting married and changing my name I had to make some updates on one of the card designs I had anyway, and since I just spent quite a bit of time updating my brand and my website I figured I should probably go all out and make a card that I love and that I will love handing out. So after creating a custom shape and die for my card it has officially been sent off to production this morning!! I will have my custom die cut cards to show you shortly but for now here is a sneak peak of the design...

CALLING ALL DALLAS WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS
I'm so excited that Jenn with Waxpaper asked me to be a part of the CRAVE dallas entrepreneur book this year! It is such a great opportunity for me to meet other women entrepreneurs and business owners in Dallas.
CRAVE dallas innovatively connects urban gals to the sassiest, gutsiest, most inspiring people they need to know in Dallas. Our modern marketplace of soirees, gatherings and online networking serves as your ambassador to everything there is to CRAVE about Dallas.
Take a peek inside the book.....

Each woman who is selected to be a part of the book gets a two page spread, a photoshoot of their business and products, and an interview to go in the book. The books will be sold in boutiques all over the DFW metroplex, so it is so exciting and a great new way to get exposure!
So it's your time to shine... if you are a Woman business owner int he Dallas area and you are interested in hearing more about being a part of the CRAVE BOOK that is being launched in December, just comment here or shoot me an email at nikki@doodledogadvertising.com

Letterpress Posters
After the amazing Jack Johnson concert last night, I couldn't resist re-posting these awesome letterpress posters (originally posted here) created by Brad Vetter. He has an awesome portfolio full of letterpress band posters.
ECO FRIENDLY PAPER
After attending the ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants) meeting last night that was focused on creating a "green" wedding, I have to say I was inspired to do a little research on some unique ways to make your invitations more environmentally friendly.
Since the stationary is probably the most paper consuming item that you need during your wedding there is a lot of room for improvement. And I am a firm believer in the fact that you still need to send your guest a printed invitation rather than some available alternative options that have come up in the last few years, so we need to be able to offer an eco friendly option to all of your green lovin' brides out there.
OPTION 1: (don't laugh) PAPER YOU CAN PLANT
How fun is this? You send your invitation (or marketing piece if you are a business) to you guest/target and when they are done with the information they can actually plant the paper in the ground because it is made with seeds that will bloom in to beautiful flowers.
This would be a perfect option for:
- Non-Profit Organizations
- Environmental Organizations
- Companies with a strong green ethic
- Brides who really want to set the tone for their green eco friendly wedding
- Any companies willing to strengthen their Sustainable/Green policies
One of the best parts about this paper, is that it is completely customizable so if you are worried about it lacking a great design all you would have to do is have your selected designer (hint hint) design it for you and get it printed on this type of paper rather than the standard linen, pearl or uncoated stock.
OPTION 2: (slightly more practical) RECYCLED PAPER
This is a great option for anyone who is environmentally conscious. In many cases guests and viewers won't even know that it is recycled unless you place the recycled paper logo on the paper (if you are a business). The paper is still beautiful and good for the earth at the same time.
OPTION 3: THE LOGO BEAN
I have to admit, I've actually used this for a company before and it was AWESOME! So, I was thinking why not repurpose it. It is really easy and fun. So when you get it it's an empty pot and you just water it and give it a little light like any other plant and when it grows the bean actually grows with your logo or design on it.
- This would be a perfect (and unique) save the date, if you had the date put on the bean instead of a logo
- Great favor for your guest to take home and grow.
- A green business
